Interview with John Zerilli, philosopher, author, and Research Fellow in the University of Oxford.
John is a philosopher with particular interests in cognitive science, artificial intelligence, and the law. He is currently a Leverhulme Fellow in the University of Oxford and an Associate Fellow at the Centre for the Future of Intelligence in the University of Cambridge.
In his most recent book, A Citizen’s Guide to Artificial Intelligence, John and his co-authors provide a concise overview of the moral, political, legal and economic implications of AI. The book covers the basics of AI's latest permutation, machine learning, and considers issues such as transparency, bias, liability, privacy, and regulation.
In our interview with John, we’ll be talking specifically about the political implications of AI and microtargeting, as well as the various metrics used to determine whether an algorithm is fair.
